Aside from the noise and elevators, this was a great hotel - location, price, and free parking make this an easy recommendation, especially if you plan to mostly stay in the downtown area. Although it was probably a freak accident, it was worth noting since the elevators did seem fairly old. While using one of the elevators, an employee mentioned a light fixture breaking and causing them a concussion. It did make it tough to sleep, but I don't expect a ton of quiet in Las Vegas. One issue I had was the loud music (from Oasis) that played well past midnight in this back 'play area'. I cannot comment on the gambling or other attractions at this hotel, though the back area was very well decorated for a Halloween theme. Having free parking is a huge deal, since so many hotels in Las Vegas charge for parking, even if you are staying at that hotel. The HDTV was quite nice as was the wi-fi speed. One of the floor lamps was unplugged, but worked fine once I plugged it in. ![]() ![]() The room was large and had the amenities you'd expect, all working just fine. The hotel was very low key, as it is about one block from Fremont. All payments, including room, tax, and amenity fees must be secured on a Credit/Debit Card. I hadn't stayed at Oasis prior to this trip, but the price was great as was the location, since I tend to spend more time around Fremont than other areas when visiting Las Vegas. Oasis at Gold Spike requires a 100 deposit on the rooms and they do no accept cash payments.
